Online notarization, also known as Remote Online Notarization (RON), allows documents to be notarized digitally using secure audio-video technology. You do not need to meet the notary in person. The entire process is completed online from your computer, tablet, or smartphone.

Is online notarization legal?

Yes. Online notarization is legal in many U.S. states and recognized nationwide for most documents. Our notaries follow all state and federal laws governing remote notarization.

What types of documents can be notarized online?

Common documents include:

  • Acknowledgments and Jurats

What documents cannot be notarized online?

What do I need for an online notarization?

You will need:

  • A valid, government-issued photo ID

  • A device with a camera, microphone, and internet access

  • The document ready for upload (PDF preferred)

  • A quiet, well-lit environment

How long does the process take?

Most online notarizations take 10–15 minutes once your session begins.

Do I need to create an account?

No account is required. However, creating one can make future notarizations faster and easier.

Is online notarization secure?

Yes. All sessions are conducted on secure, encrypted platforms. Audio-video recordings are stored according to state law to protect your privacy and ensure compliance.

How is my identity verified?

Your identity is verified using a multi-step process that may include:

  • ID credential analysis

  • Knowledge-based authentication (KBA)

  • Live audio-video confirmation with the notary

Can I notarize documents for another state?

Yes. As long as the notarization is permitted under the notary’s commissioning state and your document is eligible, we can notarize documents regardless of where you are physically located.

Do you offer bilingual services?

Yes. We offer bilingual notarization services in English and Spanish to ensure clear communication and understanding.

How do I receive my notarized document?
